What I would like to know is when to begin doing the routine like the 8 sets of 1 for squat and Bench. Also, what exercises are incorporated as a supplement to those lifts. So when an athlete does his 1 rep, what exercise does he immediately go to then?

As soon as you have maxes.
You can choose the supersets–we do things such as pull ups, rows, band pulls, box, jumps, or stretches. You can use any auxiliary exercise you like.
